Job Overview

The role involves a range of administrative and reception duties essential for the smooth operation of our healthcare facility. Responsibilities include:

  • Registering patients and managing their information
  • Answering phone calls and addressing inquiries
  • Completing necessary requisitions and transcribing medical orders
  • Scheduling patient appointments efficiently
  • Ordering and overseeing the inventory of medical supplies
  • Preparing stretchers and assisting with patient transport
  • Filing documents and performing data entry tasks
  • Coordinating staff schedules

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • A diploma in Medical Office Administration from an accredited institution or at least one year of relevant clerical experience in a healthcare environment
  • A certificate in medical terminology
  • A high school diploma (Grade 12)
  • A typing speed of at least 30 words per minute
  • Proficiency in computer data entry with speed and accuracy
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with patient management databases
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • A commitment to outstanding customer service
  • The capacity to respond diplomatically to inquiries from various stakeholders
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and handling wheeled equipment
  • A solid employment and attendance record
  • Previous experience in an emergency setting is preferred

Additional Information

Work Schedule: Flexibility to work various rotating shifts, including days and nights.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
