Indigenous COOP Student Opportunity

This federal building, originally built in the 1950s, serves as a hub for labs and science facilities in the Atlantic region. Our goal is to create a world-class facility for research and education, focusing on understanding, protecting, and sustaining Atlantic freshwater and coastal saltwater aquatic ecosystems.

About the Project

This project is a significant undertaking located in the heart of Moncton. We are seeking intensive collaboration with Indigenous communities, employees, and partners in the region. As part of our design team, you will play a crucial role in connecting with Indigenous communities and supporting design-related work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in design activities, depending on your qualifications.
  • Support the Design Team with administrative functions and processes.
  • Build relationships with multiple teams and Indigenous communities.
  • Help present the project to various audiences and attend networking events, career fairs, or other events related to the ASEC project.
  • Assist with Graphic Design and Social Media.
  • Organize and communicate with Indigenous partners, communities, and stakeholders.
  • Support other projects the design team is working on, when possible.
  • Liaise with sub-consultants and subcontractors.
Requirements
  • An interest in architecture, engineering, and community engagement.
  • A technical background in architecture, engineering, or construction would be considered an asset.
  • High school diploma, preferred.
  • Pursuing or intend to pursue post-secondary or a technical program.
  • Basic understanding and capability with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software applications.
