Job Title: Women's Counsellor

COSTI Immigrant Services is seeking a skilled Women's Counsellor to join our team. As a Women's Counsellor, you will provide critical support to newcomer immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, helping them navigate the settlement process and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct intake and assessment of needs, barriers, and assets to develop a settlement plan for clients.
  • Provide case management services, including information, referral, documentation, crisis intervention, follow-up, and supportive counselling.
  • Refer clients to community and social service agencies for additional support.
  • Liaise with government, community groups, educational institutions, and volunteers regarding services for clients.
  • Keep administrative records of services and activities, prepare necessary reports, and input data using COSTI and ICARE databases.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Requirements:
  • Social Service Worker Diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in providing settlement counselling.
  • Ability to communicate in Farsi; additional languages considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience with virtual platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeetings).
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to liaise with community organizations.
  • Experience in conducting various methods of outreach.
  • Sound knowledge of Internet, Email, and MS Office in a Windows environment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
