Auberge du Pommier is a new restaurant opening in the heart of Halifax, dedicated to showcasing the exceptional flavors of Canada's Maritime provinces. Our chefs are passionate about sourcing the freshest fish, flora, and fauna within a 100km radius, crafting an authentic culinary experience that reflects the region's unique landscape.

The Role: Line Cook

As a Line Cook at Auberge du Pommier, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes that embody our culinary vision. Your passion for food and cooking will be evident in every aspect of your work. You are a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and organization.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Execute delegated tasks from Sous Chefs, Head Chefs, and General Managers with precision and efficiency.
  • Prepare dishes according to Auberge du Pommier's recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain a detailed prep list of station duties, ensuring smooth workflow throughout service.
  • Adhere to FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to maximize freshness and minimize waste.
  • Assist with food inventory management and control procedures.
  • Collaborate in receiving and storing delivered items according to established protocols.
  • Maintain a spotless work environment by adhering to strict sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines.
  • Comply with WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) guidelines for safe handling of chemicals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required to support the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Your Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
  • Culinary diploma/degree is an asset but not required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of professional cooking techniques and knife handling skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions effectively and work calmly under pressure.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods throughout your shift.
  • Food Handler's certification is a plus.
