Area Safety Manager

Join First Student Canada-Transco as an Area Safety Manager and take on a challenging role that requires a strong commitment to safety and transportation management. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and employees, while also driving operational efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely.
- Monitor and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve safety culture and engagement among employees.
- 2 years of college or equivalent education/experience in a related field.
- 7 years of experience in safety and transportation management.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
- Ability to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
