- Work Hours: 38 to 44 hours per week
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in veterinary medicine, medicine, dentistry, or optometry
This position is based in a veterinary clinic that supports relocation costs for the right candidate. Candidates should be open to relocating.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour primary duties will include:
- Diagnosing diseases or abnormal conditions in animals through physical examinations or laboratory tests
- Treating sick or injured animals by prescribing medications, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgeries
- Administering vaccinations to prevent and treat diseases
- Advising clients on proper animal care, including feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care
- Conducting routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations
- Providing a variety of veterinary services, including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia
- Supervising animal health technologists and animal care workers
You will oversee a team of 3-4 individuals.
Safety and SecurityTo ensure a safe working environment, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Bondable
- Basic security clearance
- Eligible for professional liability insurance
- Immunization records
- Criminal record check
This role requires:
- Handling heavy loads
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical activities including bending, crouching, and kneeling
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- Ability to distinguish between colors
- Working under pressure
- Weight handling of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
