Role Responsibilities:

As a Senior Addictions Counselor, you will deliver high-quality, client-centered, recovery-oriented, and culturally sensitive assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, educational, and referral services for clients and their families. You will also provide community stabilization services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Implementing a variety of interventions that prioritize the least intrusive and most suitable services for clients and their families.
  • Monitoring and assessing client progress towards recovery objectives and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Utilizing your exceptional relationship-building skills to engage effectively with clients, families, government personnel, and colleagues.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Addictions or a related field, supplemented by coursework in addictions. A relevant degree combined with a diploma in addictions, or an equivalent mix of education and experience may also be acceptable. Candidates eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act (Alberta) must maintain active registration. Authorization may be required to perform restricted psychosocial interventions and/or activities.
