ROLE SUMMARY

Vertex is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Team in Grande Prairie, Alberta or Fort St. John, British Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing upstream oil and gas projects in accordance with Vertex guidelines and project scopes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Conduct Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), remediation, and reclamation projects.
  2. Develop and implement cost-effective solutions to meet client expectations.
  3. Mentor and coach junior environmental staff to ensure knowledge transfer and team growth.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality project results.
  5. Ensure compliance with contaminated sites and reclamation regulations in Alberta and British Columbia.
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Diploma or higher education in environmental sciences, biology, or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum 3 to 7 years of environmental work experience with expertise in Phase 1 and Phase 2 ESAs, remediation, reclamation, and groundwater monitoring.
  3. Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
  4. Strong time management and organizational skills.
  5. Ability to work in the field for extended periods and travel within Western Canada as required.
LOCATION

This position will be based out of Grande Prairie, Alberta or Fort St. John, British Columbia.
