Job Title: Part-Time Health Care Aide

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Health Care Aide to join our team at Bethany Residence in Burlington. As a key member of our care team, you will provide non-medical support services, life-skills, mental health support, laundry, and light housekeeping duties to enable residents to live as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Arrange and escort residents to appointments
  • Provide housekeeping services, including laundry and light housekeeping duties
  • Support residents with life-skills, such as meal preparation and medication management
  • Provide mental health support and engage residents in activities to promote their well-being

Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma and experience in the provision of personal support services to people with mental health and concurrent disorders, disabilities, and/or seniors
  • Additional certification in personal support care, first aid, healthcare, or other related qualifications preferred
  • Ability to empathize with people with physical, emotional, and social needs
  • Knowledge of basic math and ability to do calculations and quantity measurements
  • Must be able to plan and organize work and perform tasks according to priority
  • Ability to make solid decisions and problem-solve effectively
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English
  • Able to communicate in other languages is an asset
  • Must demonstrate high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with residents, family members, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required
  • A valid driving license and reliable transportation may be a requirement for this position
