Together, we are shaping the future of payment solutions.

Role Overview

The Risk Management and Fraud Analyst is essential in overseeing merchant activities, scrutinizing and identifying patterns, and investigating alerts to manage the fraud and financial risks associated with the merchant portfolio.

You will collaborate with clients, partners, and various internal teams to address and mitigate risks, including fraud, chargebacks, insolvency, and anti-money laundering (AML) concerns. Effective management of daily responsibilities and reporting is crucial to swiftly identify and address emerging risks. The Risk Management and Fraud Analyst will report directly to the Head of Risk & Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze fraud-related data and assist in management reporting. Utilize established criteria to categorize, process, and analyze complex information relevant to risk.
  • Review new and ongoing merchant relationships, identifying and investigating potentially suspicious activities.
  • Conduct daily transaction and batch monitoring to assess suspicious or out-of-scope activities, ensuring all actions and cases are thoroughly documented with supporting information as necessary.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to make analysis-based decisions regarding account closures or contacting merchants to discuss activities.
  • Work alongside team stakeholders to provide mitigation strategies to minimize losses due to fraud or merchant negligence while maintaining a positive merchant experience.
  • Partner with the Credit Risk Manager to perform periodic reviews of customers to detect and investigate potential fraud. When fraud risk indicators are triggered, ensure appropriate actions are taken to proactively limit exposure to fraudulent activities.
  • Collaborate with Fraud & Monitoring Analysts to evaluate merchant performance against established fraud and chargeback targets, supporting the review and quantification of overall company fraud risk exposure.
  • Provide ongoing support to sales and customer care teams, including chargeback dispute management, reviewing suspected fraudulent activities, and offering training on risk management tools and resources for fraud prevention.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and regulatory requirements related to payments and fraud risk to ensure alignment of business strategies with the operational landscape.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We seek innovative thinkers who can drive positive change and demonstrate a proactive approach. This includes:

  • 1-2 years of experience in payments, fraud prevention, or the banking sector.
  • Knowledge and experience in e-commerce or card schemes.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with a comfort level in data analysis.
  • A commitment to integrity and trust.
  • Curiosity, analytical skills, accuracy, and a methodical approach.
  • Strong organizational skills, with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with investigative techniques and reporting protocols within the payment industry.
  • A collaborative team player, willing to work with others and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • A multicultural mindset and adaptability to work in an international context.
