Description of the Position

EnviroEmplois is seeking a biologist (ornithologist) to join its multidisciplinary team in the ecology and biodiversity department. The successful candidate will work alongside engineers, agronomists, biologists, and other environmental specialists to contribute to the company's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct bird inventories
  • Identify birds in flight and by their songs
  • Analyze and compile inventory data
  • Participate in the planning of field visits
  • Contribute to the writing of various documents (reports, technical notes, etc.)
  • Act as a technical expert in the field of environment to support various company projects
  • Collaborate with all departments to achieve project goals
  • Promote and implement the company's health and safety program

Requirements

  • Hold a university or college degree in biology or a related field
  • Minimum four years of relevant experience in bird observation (not necessarily in a professional setting)
  • Ability to identify birds by their songs and in flight
  • Ability to work outdoors in isolated environments
  • Ability to implement various inventory techniques
  • Own a vehicle and possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to communicate in French (oral and written)
  • Autonomy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team and in a dynamic environment
