Position Overview:

This role is integral to the management and upkeep of the HACCP System and associated initiatives within the organization. The selected candidate will collaborate with various manufacturing units to ensure the effective execution of pertinent business programs. The focus will be on identifying avenues for ongoing enhancement within established Food Safety and Quality Assurance protocols and facilitating the development and application of improvements to these frameworks.

Daily Responsibilities:
• Serve as the HACCP Specialist, overseeing the implementation and auditing of HACCP system revisions, including maintenance and reassessment tasks. Identify and propose enhancements within current programs and communicate HACCP performance metrics to senior leadership.

• Design, execute, and evaluate warehouse programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs & HACCP protocols) to ensure adherence to all regulatory and corporate standards.

• Assess, classify, and document the final status of damaged and returned items.

• Conduct internal audits and assist with external evaluations (including internal audits, regulatory inspections, and customer audits), leading sessions as required and acting as the Food Defense Team Leader.

• Manage the cold chain tracking initiative, monitoring temperature conditions of trailers during transit and at primary internal and external storage facilities.

• Schedule inspections of co-manufactured products and other items as necessary. Track, analyze, and report findings to relevant stakeholders.

• Document outcomes of investigations to determine the status of questionable products, including returns, refusals, potential temperature violations, damaged goods, and incidents during transportation.

• Act as an onsite resource to investigate and resolve discrepancies between inventory management systems and respond to inquiries from manufacturing sites.

• Cultivate a strong and respectful partnership with warehouse management and external quality assurance teams.

• Perform daily verification and data entry for outbound CHEP, manage inbound CHEP data, oversee CHEP pallet control, and coordinate CHEP pickups and returns. Lead the annual CHEP pallet audit.

Qualifications:


• A degree in Food Safety, Food Science, or a related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in a food-related Quality Assurance role (preferably in meat), including internal auditing and GFSI/BRC compliance. Experience as a HACCP Specialist is highly advantageous.

• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Innovative problem-solving skills to identify opportunities and implement solutions.

• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and results-driven approach.

• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to provide QA support across various shifts, including weekends, as needed.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
