Job Summary
Verve Senior Living is seeking a skilled Life Enrichment Programmer to join our team at Hawthorn Park Retirement Community. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing meaningful recreation programs that enhance the physical, cultural, social, spiritual, and intellectual development of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement recreation programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
- Collaborate with the Life Enrichment Manager to plan and execute programs that promote resident engagement and well-being.
- Supervise and assist volunteers in the delivery of programs and services.
- Meet with new residents to introduce them to the Life Enrichment department and its services.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies in all Life Enrichment programs.
- Maintain effective communication with the Life Enrichment Manager and other departments as needed.
- Valid Class 4 Driver's License and ability to drive the Hawthorn Park bus for activity purposes.
- Standard First Aid, Serving It Right, and Food Safe certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-year college diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
