Job Summary

The Assistant Director, Finance and Planning is a key member of the finance team at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. This role is responsible for managing the development, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of institutional budgets, forecasts, and key performance measures. The successful candidate will have strong leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work closely with operational managers, directors, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage institutional budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with Centre-wide goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support operational decision-making, including monthly financial results and year-end financial statements.
  • Collaborate with operational managers and directors to develop and implement budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including operational managers, directors, and senior leadership.
Requirements
  • University degree in finance or business.
  • CPA designation with experience in public accounting practice is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of financial accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to promote and maintain the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain highly effective working relationships with staff, peers, and management teams.
