Your RoleAs a Construction Quality Assurance Technician, you will collaborate closely with the Materials team. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing and advocating for Englobe's health and safety protocols
- Evaluating the quality of construction and building materials (including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, sealants, and membranes)
- Overseeing the application of various construction materials and workmanship
- Reporting any quality concerns to management
- Conducting field or laboratory tests on construction materials to determine their quality
- Preparing and gathering samples for laboratory analysis
- Performing compaction tests using a Nuclear Densometer
- Testing plastic concrete on-site and preparing samples for laboratory testing
- Assisting in asphalt and concrete coring for thickness and material composition assessments
- Ensuring the accuracy of test data
- Documenting quality control inspections and test results
- Maintaining testing equipment in optimal condition
- Ensuring calibration of equipment is up to date
- High School diploma
- College diploma in Civil Engineering is an asset
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and organized
- Good physical fitness (occasional heavy lifting may be necessary)
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for site travel
- Willingness to work various shifts and schedules
- Availability for weekend work on short notice
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and schedules quickly
- Capacity to listen, learn, and follow instructions from supervisors
- Proficiency in using applications for inspection services
- Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety
