York Region District School Board is seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to fill the role of Interim High School Generalist Teacher. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive academic support to students with diverse needs, ensuring their individual educational goals are met.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), including behavior support plans (BSPs) and Individualized Service Plans (ISPs), tailored to each student's unique requirements.
  • Effectively guide and mentor Educational Assistants, fostering a collaborative approach to instruction and student support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as special education staff and administrators, to ensure seamless integration of services and support for students.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of mental health, behavioral interventions, and educational strategies to effectively address student needs.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on student progress and collaborating on strategies to enhance learning.
Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a relevant teaching certification and experience working with secondary students. A background in counseling or psychology, as well as experience in drama and theater, would be highly advantageous.
