About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Leader to join our Property Claims team at Aviva. As a Senior Claims Leader, you will play a key role in driving the performance and delivery of the business unit outcomes, strategy, and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and enhance the best Property Claims team in the industry by fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Clearly articulate and effectively communicate the link between our purpose, strategy, commitment, and culture to drive business results.
  • Identify, assess, and retain top talent to strengthen our business and drive growth.
  • Develop and implement effective performance management and career development strategies for team members.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members to support their career aspirations and improve performance.
  • Lead by example and demonstrate a strong understanding of risk management controls and compliance obligations.
  • Use data and insights to drive business decisions and improve overall performance.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the customer experience and drive business results.
  • Represent the team in senior management discussions and provide strategic input to drive business outcomes.
  • Take ownership of team results and understand the consequences and impact of key decisions.
  • Develop and recommend the strategic direction for the department and ensure alignment with company goals.

Requirements:

  • CIP or FCIP industry designation.
  • Years of experience in claims management, with a strong knowledge of property claims (residential and commercial).
  • Years of people management experience, including managing leaders.
  • Proven experience leading people through change and driving business results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to gain insight from data to improve business performance.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be licensed where applicable within Canada to adjust and sponsor others.
