Data Analyst Co-op with Strong Python Coding Skills

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Co-op with strong Python coding skills to join our team for a 4-month term. As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with our team to support the production of data-driven insights and decisions related to our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Data Collection and Preparation: Assist in gathering, cleaning, profiling, and transforming data from various sources to ensure data integrity and readiness for analysis.
- Data Analysis and Visualization: Utilize Python and data analysis libraries (Pandas, Numpy, and many more) to analyze large datasets and generate meaningful insights. Familiarity with some Python visualization packages like plotly and matplotlib is a plus.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate data processing tasks, streamline workflows, and improve efficiency.
- Data Quality: Support data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used in analysis.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to improve current reporting processes.
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or statistics.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to details.
- Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).
- Advanced programming skills in Python with experience in data science-related tools and packages like Pandas, Numpy, Plotly, etc.
- Experience or understanding of Relational Database (and SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).
- Strong MS Office skills - Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
This is a 4-month student placement with a start date of January 2025 and an end date of April 2025. To be eligible for this position, you must either be returning to school after the work term end-date of April 2025 or be graduating in April 2025 and require the full 4-month work term as a mandatory component to graduate successfully.
