Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Support Specialist to join our team at the Avon Maitland District School Board. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the daily maintenance and operations of our schools are running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine building maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and inspections
  • Operate and maintain equipment, such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, and buffing machines
  • Conduct health and safety checks to ensure a safe working environment
  • Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve shared goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience in one or more trade disciplines (e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
  • Excellent interpersonal, professional, and organizational skills
  • Ability to use a computer and software applications (e.g. Google Suite)
  • Experience handling machinery and knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies
