About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate Solicitor to join our Wills, Trusts and Probate team at IBB Law. As a senior member of the team, you will provide high-quality legal services to clients on all aspects of wills, trusts, tax planning, Enduring Powers and Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection and Probate law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients on will drafting, probate and administration of estates, lifetime tax planning and trust drafting, Enduring Powers and Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge and skills, including the ability to analyze information, understand and adhere to instructions, communicate effectively, and research case law and technical precedents.
  • Ensure that professional services provided by the team meet the highest quality standards, client care standards are effectively maintained, and work completed meets the appropriate standards.
  • Manage files efficiently, adhering to timescales, compliance with precedents, and maintaining accurate records on the case management system.
  • Optimize the use of technology and applications to provide a smooth and efficient client experience.
  • Comply with the Office Manual and report any areas of concern or risk to the partner.
Practice Growth and Financial Performance
  • Take responsibility for billing and administration processes, delegating work to junior solicitors, trainees, paralegals, and group legal administrators as needed.
  • Provide guidance on legal issues to junior team members, manage cash and disbursement control, and work on ad hoc projects as required.
  • Ensure work is prioritized and progressed efficiently, new business is effectively introduced and managed, and partners are aware of workload and specific issues.
Client and Business Development
  • Develop a strong reputation as a trusted advisor to clients and other professional bodies.
  • Help develop team capability to market services to existing clients and new prospects.
  • Look for ways to innovate with existing streams of ancillary work, building personal reputation and eminence for the firm.
People
  • Remain professionally and technically up to date by participating in learning and development activities and recording CPD.

Person Specification

  • Educated to degree level (with a 2:1 or above) with a strong LPC pass or equivalent and hold a current unencumbered practising certificate from the SRA.
  • Indicatively, 6+ years post-qualification experience in this area of legal work.
  • Good technical grounding in this area of law.
  • Flexible with the ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards and attention to detail.
  • IT literate and self-sufficient in using document management systems, MS Office, and the internet as a business tool.
  • Previous experience in managing people within a team and supporting junior members of the team (desirable).
  • A clear awareness of the need to develop business with past experience in marketing and promoting expertise to attract work and further opportunities.
