About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Align Technology, Inc. team. As a key member of our Appliance Design Innovation Team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new solutions for modeling 3D objects, processing 3D surfaces, and modeling treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Design, develop, and implement new solutions for modeling 3D objects, processing 3D surfaces, and modeling treatment.
  2. Algorithm Optimization: Improve and optimize existing algorithms to ensure high-quality software.
  3. Research and Prototyping: Research and prototype solutions to address complex problems and improve software performance.
  4. Problem Analysis: Analyze existing problems, requirements, and dependencies to identify areas for improvement.
  5. Quality Assurance: Develop metrics and tests to determine the quality of selected solutions and analyze statistics.
  6. Collaboration: Interact with the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) team to ensure high-quality software and collaborate with other cross-functional teams within the company.
  7. Communication: Present changes to customers and users and lead and mentor Software Engineers/Junior Software Engineers.
Requirements
  1. Technical Expertise: 8+ years of C++ development experience and excellent knowledge of C++, STL, and OOP.
  2. Enterprise Software Development: Experience in enterprise/commercial software development and higher technical education (engineering, computer science, mathematics).
  3. Linear Algebra and Geometry: Basic knowledge of linear algebra, analytical geometry, and theory of algorithms.
  4. Code Understanding: Ability to understand someone else's code and legally entitled to work in Canada.
Desired Qualifications
  1. Optimization Methods: Knowledge of optimization methods (numerical methods).
  2. 3D-Geometry Algorithms: Understanding of 3D-geometry algorithms.
