Position Overview
As the Manager of Assurance and Advisory (A&A), you will lead or assist in audit engagements from inception to completion, working closely with internal partners to enhance risk and control practices. You will play a vital role in delivering valuable insights on CPP Investments' key initiatives, leveraging your technical expertise to drive strategic objectives, and elevating the significance of A&A within the organization. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the annual planning process for A&A and developing the Annual Assurance and Advisory Plan
- Defining the objectives and scope of engagements in alignment with the Annual Plan
- Identifying control deficiencies, recommending enhancements, and drafting audit reports
- Providing advisory services while maintaining credibility and meeting management expectations
- Guiding junior auditors to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Ensuring engagements comply with corporate and industry audit standards
- Formulating valuable recommendations and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders
Qualifications
Education & Professional Certifications:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field; a postgraduate degree is advantageous
- Preferred professional designations include CPA, CFA, CISA, CIA, CBV, etc.
Professional Experience:
- Progressive experience in Internal/External Audit, Technology, Data Analytics, and/or Risk Management
- Familiarity with investment and asset management operations and associated risks
- Understanding of audit methodologies, project management, and risk practices in financial services
