Position Overview
Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC - K03 is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to enhance the Ring Authentication Services team. This team plays a pivotal role in delivering secure and dependable services for users and devices connecting to the Ring Cloud.

You will take ownership of your responsibilities and demonstrate a passion for software quality, maintainability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass the following:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain core functionalities of Ring Authentication services.
  • Lead the technical strategy and architecture for complex software systems.
  • Identify and implement improvements for the stability, performance, and security of authentication services.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including Product Managers and internal technical teams, to define business needs and drive comprehensive solutions.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a robust cross-functional organization.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle, influencing best practices and ensuring operational excellence for large-scale production services.

Since its inception, Ring has been dedicated to enhancing neighborhood safety. With innovative products like the video doorbell and Ring Alarm, recognized for exceptional customer satisfaction, Ring offers comprehensive security solutions for homes and communities.

Basic Qualifications
To qualify, candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience in one or more software languages.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading design or architecture of both new and existing systems.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading an engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing.
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
