We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Homewood Health Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical psychiatric care to patients in our Assessment and Stabilization Unit and Comprehensive Psychiatric Care units.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical psychiatric care to patients, including admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, referral, daily care, and discharge.
- Diagnose and manage complex psychiatric disorders, including medication management and referral to specialized services as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Document patient care and treatment plans in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance patient care and stay up-to-date on best practices in psychiatry.
- Support the development and implementation of evidence-based treatment programs and protocols.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive and supportive work environment.
- Specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent body acceptable to the Royal College.
- Experience working with complex psychiatric disorders and comorbid mental health and substance use disorders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
