About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our Land Development team at McIntosh Perry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering designs and solutions for a wide range of land development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop engineering plans and specifications for land development projects, with a focus on drainage and stormwater management.
  • Author and submit Engineers Reports under the Drainage Act, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, landowners, and municipal staff to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring seamless project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and industry professionals.
Requirements
  • University degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Experience as a Drainage Engineer, with a strong understanding of the Drainage Act.
  • 5+ years of experience in land development projects, specifically with experience under the Drainage Act.
  • Background in subdivision or experience working in engineering designs of subdivisions is an asset.
  • Authored an Engineers Report under the Drainage Act within the last 5 years.
  • Certified Drainage Superintendent is an asset.
  • Design skills with good working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil3D.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French would also be an asset).
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, time management, and ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Experienced with project management and has worked in, or understands the consulting engineering environment.
  • Working knowledge of modeling software is an asset (PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, EPANET, etc.).
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
