Position Overview:
As a Geotechnical Engineer at BBA Consultants, your expertise will be essential in executing a range of responsibilities within the geotechnical engineering domain. This role encompasses conducting thorough geotechnical site assessments, analyzing material properties, and generating detailed technical reports to facilitate project goals. You will also oversee construction processes, evaluate potential risks, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical site assessments
- Oversee civil and geotechnical construction operations
- Perform field evaluations and analyze landslide risks
- Manage geotechnical instrumentation and assess soil properties
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients on project outcomes
- Contribute to proposal development and presentations
- Travel to various project locations as required
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Technical Geology, or Civil Engineering
- Registered member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
- In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical design software
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to travel for project assignments
