Job Title: Assistant Shop Manager

Craftsman Collision is a leading auto body repair chain in Canada, committed to excellence and employee satisfaction. We're seeking an experienced Assistant Shop Manager to promote a high-performing shop culture and drive profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support daily operations and provide leadership to ensure stakeholder objectives are met in a safe, effective, and positive manner.
  • Manage shop operations in alignment with The Craftsman Way (TCW) and ensure compliance with provincial and national regulatory standards.
  • Review and interpret key performance indicators, and assist the Shop Manager with adjustments to shop operations as needed.
  • Write estimates and schedules repairs as required, and review monthly financials with the Shop Manager.
  • Support overall direction, provide coaching and leadership to the shop team, and contribute to a work environment that fosters empowerment and decision-making.
  • Promote a shop culture where Health and Safety is a priority, and ensure shop facility and team members follow all Health and Safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the team in providing the highest levels of customer service, both internally and externally, and resolve customer service concerns and escalate to the Shop Manager as needed.
  • Stay abreast of current Craftsman Collision marketing initiatives and promotions, and support the Shop Manager and Marketing Manager on local initiatives and community events.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive industry or related experience, including experience in sales, customer service, management, or leadership.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and proficiency in Mitchell Estimating, Audatex, and ALLDATA.
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening skills, combined with the ability to interact and gain the support of senior leadership and other decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to prioritize tasks based on comparative importance and urgency, and a well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in Outlook and video conferencing platforms, with the ability and willingness to learn new applications.
  • Demonstrated desire and aptitude for learning and development, and a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract over the last 3 years.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions, and occasional travel within Canada and to the US may be required for company functions.
