About the Role

E.B. Horsman & Son is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at our Parksville branch location. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of products throughout our warehouse and stock environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers to ensure accurate and timely product delivery.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve inventory management and shipping/receiving goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by offering product information, order quantity, availability, and location of stock.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, with the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge in warehouse operations and technology.

Requirements:

  • High school completion.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to learn new software programs.
  • Basic mathematical skills with the ability to calculate simple equations mentally.
  • Forklift license.
  • Ability to work inclusively, collaboratively, and respectfully.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, is an asset.
