The Legislative Assembly of Ontario is in search of a meticulous, diplomatic, and exceptionally organized Senior Compliance Review Specialist to perform thorough evaluations of travel, meal, and hospitality expenditures in accordance with the Public Sector Expenses Review Act, 2009 and the Cabinet Ministers' and Opposition Leaders' Expense Review and Accountability Act, 2002, for governmental entities and for ministers, opposition leaders, and their respective teams.

Exceptional judgment and meticulous attention to detail are crucial in this position to discern and assess claims that are distinctive and intricate in nature. You must possess a keen eye for precision and trend identification while scrutinizing expense documentation. The primary responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities

You will uphold integrity by:

Compiling submissions and all necessary documentation for evaluation. Analyzing expense reports and reviewing individual receipts and supporting materials to ensure adherence to the Ontario Travel, Meal and Hospitality Directive / Allowable Rules. Drafting a briefing note and pinpointing items from the claims that present exceptions or necessitate further information / clarification from the relevant parties. Creating and dispatching correspondence to stakeholders requesting additional information / clarification and conducting follow-ups as necessary. Evaluating responses for reasonableness and finalizing the briefing note, documenting any non-compliance / issues of concern for the Integrity Commissioner, along with available options. Completing the file in preparation for the Integrity Commissioner's assessment and informing the stakeholder of review outcomes once finalized. Offering standard guidance and training to stakeholders as needed. Maintaining statistical and workflow records. Performing other duties as assigned.

You should possess an investigative mindset, outstanding communication abilities, sound judgment, critical thinking skills, and the capacity to work autonomously. You are adept at handling digital and confidential information. You cultivate positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
