Job Title: Assistant Produce Team Lead

This is a leadership role that requires a quality-driven individual who is passionate about training and developing people in a profitable business. The role involves hands-on work in preparing and presenting produce for sale, with a focus on creating abundant, appealing, and fresh-looking displays. The position also involves providing excellent customer service and working closely with the purchasing department to ensure specifications and pricing from approved suppliers are followed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Produce Lead to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the purchasing department to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of produce.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and control, including receiving, stocking, and rotating produce.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer requests and questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of produce for sale, including cleaning, peeling, slicing, and trimming vegetables and fruits.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the Produce Lead or Store Leader.
Working Conditions:
  • Some exposure to temperature variations and wet conditions.
  • May walk and work on uneven surfaces.
  • Requires some reaching above and below shoulder height.
  • Repetitive use of hands with power grasping and fine manipulation.
  • May need to use a ladder or stool to reach product or supplies.
  • Some exposure to continuous background and occasional loud noises.
  • Repetitive stretching and lifting required.
Qualifications:
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for fresh foods.
  • Excellent merchandising skills and knowledge of inventory management.
  • Passion for customer service and creating great experiences.
  • Self-motivated and problem-solving skills.
  • Math skills and ability to work accurately with numbers.
