About the Role:

Grandview Kids is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Assistant to join our team. As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a vital role in facilitating recreational programs for clients, ensuring their safety and well-being, and supporting the maintenance of a clean and attractive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, implementation, and facilitation of group programs for clients
  • Support clients in using materials or supplies, under the direction of the Recreation Therapist
  • Distribute materials or supplies to clients, as directed by the Recreation Therapist
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a safe and inclusive environment for clients
  • Support departmental efforts in Quality Improvement Program (QIP) activities

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a College Level Recreation program or equivalent degree or college diploma in therapeutic recreation or equivalent
  • R/TRO, R/DIP, or CTRS designation is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with children, youth, and their families with physical and developmental disabilities, and experience planning and facilitating group recreation programs
  • Possess a valid driver's license
