Healthcare Technology Expert

The Senior Systems Analyst will play a key role in evaluating, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting information management and technology solutions, projects, and services across Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. This position will collaborate with clinical and business stakeholders to rationalize disparate systems and implement the OPOR strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate requests for change, data retrieval, and optimization opportunities;
- Troubleshoot and assist with the resolution of application errors and other system issues;
- Develop materials and communicate system changes to end users;
- Build and maintain system configuration items in line with best practice and stakeholder approvals.
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Business Analysis, or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Technology, Business Analysis, or Healthcare field;
- 2+ years' experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis, or systems support;
- Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Python,.NET, SQL, CCL;
- Experience cleansing and standardizing large data sets;
- Experience in data integration between legacy and new systems, data management, information lifecycle, and implementing data standards;
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, including data dictionaries, metadata, and data lineage;
- Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology is an asset;
- Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP), and/or organizational change management is an asset.
- Experience supporting clinical application systems and related services in a complex healthcare organizational environment;
- Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff;
- Working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories, and concepts within healthcare;
- Strong knowledge of healthcare and technology industry best practices relating to software applications;
- Ability to solve a range of complex problems; identify innovative solutions; and use clinical best practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service;
- Experience creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis;
- Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to solve high-risk, complex issues;
- Experience in transformational or process analysis to support change management principles;
- Ability to clearly communicate Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health's vision, mission, and values;
- Experience in working with patient care leaders.
