About the Role

The Client Relationship Manager (CRM) plays a crucial role in the success of Scotiabank's Commercial Bank in Canada. This position is responsible for executing individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. The CRM ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow the commercial banking portfolio in an assigned market area by promoting profitable growth and building strong relationships with clients.
  • Manage an assigned credit portfolio for authorizations up to $5MM at an acceptable level of risk, ensuring effective credit management and risk assessment.
  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy to maximize business development opportunities for sustainable growth, leveraging market data and customer analytics.
  • Partner with internal resources to provide integrated financial solutions to clients, including non-credit related products.
  • Identify and prioritize business development opportunities, analyzing prospect lists and market data to drive growth.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in business or economics or work equivalency.
  • Previous work experience of at least 2 years or completion of Scotiabank's Training Program is preferred.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Thorough knowledge of Scotiabank's commercial lending and deposit products and services, as well as customer profitability models.
  • Ability to conduct due diligence on customer financials for deals of lower to moderate complexity.
  • Good knowledge of Onboarding, Know Your Customer, and Anti-Money Laundering processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and commercial systems and platforms.
Language Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French, as they will be working closely with other groups from head office and serving an English and French-speaking clientele.
