Youth Justice Program Supervisor

As a key member of the Youth Justice Congregate Care Program, the Supervisor plays a vital role in overseeing the care and rehabilitation of young males aged 12 to 18 who are involved in the Youth Criminal Justice System. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for both staff and youth.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide staff in assessing and addressing the mental health needs of clients through a trauma-informed approach.
- Supervise and evaluate the delivery of therapeutic programs and interventions by staff.
- Conduct regular supervision sessions to identify and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
- Ensure effective communication systems are utilized to share client and program information.
- Oversee the creation, implementation, and assessment of life skills and recreational activities for youth.
- Manage staff utilization in accordance with budgetary constraints and ensure timely payroll submissions.
- Oversee petty cash reconciliation and ensure fiscal responsibility in program management.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of client records to maintain data accuracy and compliance with agency standards.
- Ensure all documentation related to licensing and regulatory requirements is maintained appropriately.
- Facilitate team meetings and provide on-call support as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., MSW, BSW, CYC Worker) or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience working with youth in a congregate care environment.
- A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in youth justice programs is essential.
- Strong understanding of relational and strengths-based care philosophies.
- Knowledge of best practices in therapeutic interventions and programming.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coach staff.
- Experience managing budgets and ensuring fiscal accountability.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and licensing standards.
- Knowledge of community resources and networking capabilities.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and sound judgment in challenging situations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
- Ability to contribute to a safe and well-maintained physical environment.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for congregate care programs.
- Strong computer and report writing skills.
- Valid First Aid/CPR and UMAB certifications.
