About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Supervisor to join our team at Gaspésie Diesel Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our heavy-duty equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Work Activities
    • Oversee the work of heavy-duty equipment mechanics and other team members to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
    • Coordinate and schedule activities to meet work schedules and deadlines.
  • Provide Technical Guidance and Support
    • Provide technical advice and guidance to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
    • Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Recruit and Train Team Members
    • Recruit and hire new team members as needed.
    • Train or arrange for training to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations are Followed
    • Ensure that all team members follow health and safety regulations and guidelines.
    • Identify and report any potential health and safety hazards.
  • Manage Resources and Materials
    • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
    • Ensure that all resources and materials are used efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Other trades certificate or diploma.
    • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Language and Communication
    • Fluency in French.
  • Other Requirements
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work as part of a team.
