This role involves executing printing operations, including the setup and management of digital production photocopiers, color printing devices, print production machinery, and plate-making tools. Responsibilities also encompass bindery tasks, routine maintenance of equipment, and ensuring the upkeep of master files, standardization of forms, and monitoring of print supplies in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and manage digital production photocopiers and related print production equipment. Perform necessary adjustments, cleaning, and lubrication of machine components as needed. Execute various bindery tasks such as drilling, collating, punching, and stapling materials. Monitor print supplies and materials, alerting supervisors when inventory is low. Contribute to Quality Improvement initiatives by providing feedback to the print shop production planning team regarding production timelines and industry quality standards. Maintain master files and record printing job statistics by updating job cost files based on a pre-established pricing structure. Initiate the distribution of printed materials in response to requests from client departments. Keep production and client records updated by managing electronic files as change requests are received from clients. Maintain contact and distribution records in both hard copy and electronic formats. Provide minor layout and design modifications following established guidelines, or refer to a supervisor for significant design changes requiring external graphic support. Collaborate with the photocopy fleet and assist clients as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Completion of Grade 10 and three (3) years of recent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills & Knowledge

A commitment to fostering meaningful reconciliation in Canada as outlined by the TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act. Knowledge of the social, economic, political, and historical contexts affecting Indigenous communities, along with familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism initiatives (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.) is highly desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with others. Strong organizational skills. Capability to physically perform the duties of the position. Proficiency in operating related equipment.
