Job Summary

This temporary, full-time position supports teachers by preparing for lessons and maintaining facilities and equipment in the Junior School and Early Years Makerspaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers to inspire students in their Unit of Inquiry pursuits
  • Set up spaces and materials for classes, liaising with teachers and facilities
  • Maintain art and design equipment, supplies, and spaces
  • Display creative work throughout the school
  • Document student artwork and Makerspace activities
  • Operate specialized technical equipment
  • Assist with annual maintenance of equipment
  • Supply co-curricular clubs with materials
  • Assist with large projects in the Makerspace
  • Create and update labels and instructional signage
  • Chaperone field trips
  • Purchase materials from local suppliers and online
  • Perform administrative tasks
  • Aid with demonstrations and producing examples
  • Support liaison with MVP Makerspace volunteers
Requirements
  • 3-5 years experience in art or studying art in a post-secondary institution
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Photoshop and Illustrator skills
  • Immaculate attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and comfortable using ladders
  • Current driver's license and own transport
  • Strong background in studio art or design
  • Passion for art and experience with own artistic endeavors
  • Positive attitude, good humor, and teamwork
  • Aptitude for and willingness to upskill in current technologies
