About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Labourer to join our team at A. K. Nursery Ltd. as a Nursery Labourer. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in various tasks related to plant care, maintenance, and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plant Care and Maintenance
    • Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants to promote healthy growth and development.
    • Mix and prepare soils to ensure optimal plant growth.
    • Plant bulbs and seeds in designated areas.
    • Pot and re-pot plants as needed.
    • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings to new locations.
  • Work Site Environment
    • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Task Management
    • Report signs of insect or disease damage to management.
    • Assist in grafting activities as required.
    • Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs.
    • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
    • Clean work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Physical Demands
    • Perform repetitive tasks as required.
    • Work in physically demanding environments.
    • Bend, crouch, and kneel as necessary.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in a related field is an asset.
    • Permanent employment opportunity.
    • 40 hours per week.
    • English language proficiency.
