We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Adjuster - Casualty & Auto to join our team at Optimum West Insurance Company Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling minor to complex size casualty claims, as well as automobile, accident benefits, and minor property losses.
Main Responsibilities- Coverage Determination: Investigate and evaluate claims to determine coverage and liability.
- Claim Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of claims to gather facts and evidence.
- Negotiation and Settlement: Negotiate with claimants and third parties to reach a fair and equitable settlement.
- Communication: Provide clear and concise communication with all parties involved in the claims process.
- Mediation and Hearings: Participate in mediations and hearings as required.
- Intuitive Mind: Possess excellent problem-solving skills and be able to think critically.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time Management: Possess excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology: Have a good understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of Legal and Arbitration Systems: Have extensive knowledge of legal and arbitration systems.
- Knowledge of Alberta Auto and Accident Benefit Regulations: Have a good understanding of Alberta auto and accident benefit regulations.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Education: Post-secondary education preferred.
- Certifications: Completion of CIP designation or similar would be an asset.
