Reporting directly to the President, the Head of Marketing Strategy at The Brick is responsible for steering our well-established brand through innovative plans and initiatives that penetrate new markets, introduce new offerings, and enhance customer engagement.

As the marketing strategist for the organization, you will significantly impact our business and the Canadian market by leveraging your strategic insight, creative problem-solving abilities, collaborative team-building skills, and effective communication prowess.

The ideal candidate will embody the essence of The Brick brand and formulate strategies and marketing initiatives that effectively convey our identity across various platforms. With a results-oriented mindset and a strong emphasis on leadership, the successful individual will harmonize market strategies with a robust budgetary framework. Negotiation, public engagement, and a deep understanding of market-influencing tactics should be inherent traits and evidenced as key indicators of your professional achievements.

Key Responsibilities: Marketing Oversight
  1. Exhibit strong negotiation capabilities and adapt messaging for diverse vendors and stakeholders.
  2. Serve as the primary advocate for The Brick brand; accountable for defining, developing, implementing, and executing marketing strategies across multiple product categories in targeted market segments.
  3. Lead the comprehensive marketing planning and budget strategy formulation with a sharp focus on achieving substantial returns on investment.
  4. Design marketing plans for specific products, services, or business lines as outlined in the overall Marketing strategy.
  5. Collaborate with Executive and Management teams across the organization to shape strategic initiatives, product launches, and other key projects.
  6. Ensure robust practices and systems are established to attain marketing excellence in the planning, design, execution, and delivery of marketing programs.
  7. Work closely with Marketing and Ecommerce leaders and their teams to devise future marketing and technical strategies for sustained growth.
Market Research and Insights
  1. Lead the organization and evaluation of research for strategic and marketing planning.
  2. Remain informed on shifts, trends, and insights within the marketplace/industry to uphold our competitive edge.
  3. Collaborate with various departments on market testing processes and the execution of market research testing activities for products or services.
Stakeholder Engagement
  1. Partner with various internal stakeholders to effectively communicate company and departmental objectives (including Purchasing, IT, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and After Sales Service).
  2. Work with these teams to create and implement tailored plans and sales tools for select market segments, including business development, pricing, and engagement strategies.
Leading Marketing & Ecommerce Teams
  1. Inspire and mentor team members in their professional growth.
  2. Collaborate with management to enhance the performance of Marketing and Ecommerce Team Members in executing approved marketing activities.
  3. Lead and participate in regular Team, Management, and Steering Committee meetings on a weekly and monthly basis.
  4. Maintain regular communication with senior management, agencies, and clients regarding the progress of marketing initiatives.
  5. Articulate and communicate initiatives and priorities to internal stakeholders consistently.
  6. Develop and sustain quality relationships with external and internal customers (e.g., vendors, advertising agencies, internal departments, etc.).
External Partnerships
  1. Identify and assist in selecting suppliers (agencies) to ensure top-notch quality and timely delivery of marketing materials.
  2. Negotiate effectively with media agencies and creative partners on various projects and initiatives.
