Job Summary:

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified Educational Support Specialist to join our team. As an Educational Support Specialist, you will provide support to students with multiple needs, including physical needs, autism, developmental delays, behavior and anger management needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement behavior modification strategies
  • Assist students with augmentative communication strategies
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and develop strategies for improvement
  • Provide first aid and crisis intervention as needed

Requirements:

  • Two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field such as Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education or Practical Nursing
  • Experience working with students with multiple needs
  • Knowledge of behavior modification strategies, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques
  • First Aid training
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Non-violent crisis intervention training
  • Experience in a computerized environment
