Job Summary
Brock University is seeking a qualified Instructor to teach a course on Youth, Mental Health and the Law. The successful candidate will have expertise in teaching and research in the area of youth criminal justice, law, and mental health.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a course on Youth, Mental Health and the Law, including scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration)
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the Collective Agreement and meets the needs of students
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Participate in departmental and faculty-wide initiatives to promote excellence in teaching and research
Qualifications
- PhD in Criminology, Forensic Psychology, or a related discipline
- Experience in teaching youth criminal justice system (YCJS), the intersection of youth, law, and mental health, theoretical underpinnings that can guide understandings, approaches, and responses to mental health within the YCJS
- Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of children and youth, criminal justice, law and policy, mental health
- Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level
