FPAC 3P91 - Youth, Mental Health and the Law

Starts January 10th
Fridays, 14:00-16:00

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024 - $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14, per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

1. PhD in Criminology, Forensic Psychology or related discipline. If there are no qualified applicants, we will consider senior doctoral candidates.

2. Experience in teaching youth criminal justice system (YCJS), the intersection youth, law, and mental health, theoretical underpinnings that can guide understandings, approaches, and responses to mental health within the YCJS

3. Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of children and youth, criminal justice, law and policy, mental health

4. Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).
