About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Learning Support Services Teacher to join our team at School District #41 (Burnaby). As a Learning Support Services Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide consultative and collaborative support to students and teachers
  • Assess and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of students with special needs
  • Provide professional development opportunities for teachers and staff
  • Participate in the development and implementation of district-wide initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or academic equivalent in an appropriate field of study
  • Relevant methodology courses (primary and/or intermediate)
  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate
  • Knowledge of a broad range of effective instructional strategies
  • Knowledge of consultative and collaborative strategies
  • Recent, successful, substantive teaching or practicum experience in the relevant grade level
  • LSS Qualifications: Bachelor of Education degree or academic equivalent, two years of successful teaching experience in the regular classroom, courses designed to meet the diverse needs of exceptional learners, demonstrated fluency and facility in English and French when working in the French Immersion program
