Job Description

As a System Architect for Mobile Domain System Design, you will be responsible for directing, monitoring, and supporting the integration of Mobile Domain systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the Mobile Domain System Integration team, providing direction on priority and delivery dates as needed.
  • Monitor and support the Mobile Domain System Integration team, coordinating with stakeholders on issues that may impact the integration process and conducting weekly update meetings.
  • Provide PI planning support to the Mobile Domain System Integration team, including pre-planning discussions and participating in PI planning meetings.
  • Participate in daily Scrum meetings and bi-weekly sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint demo meetings to support SAFe.
  • Monitor technical issues related to Mobile Domain System Integration, conducting regular reviews of observations and SPRs.
  • Coordinate with other test houses on Mobile Domain baseline testing, including SIL and SOS SI.
  • Conduct quarterly field visits to the Mobile Domain System Integration team in Calgary to coordinate with the team and witness actual tests.
  • Conduct reviews of Mobile Domain System Integration technical documents, including test plans, test cases, lab layout plans, and delivery submissions.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Monitor Mobile Domain Baseline management working group progress.
  • Work with the baseline manager to manage Mobile Domain Baselines, including baseline progression from creation to release.
  • Participate in Mobile Domain Baseline WG meetings and report Mobile Domain Baseline status.
Requirements
  • Proof of STEM Master's degree in a relevant field, such as network, software, computer, systems, electrical, or engineering.
  • Demonstrated Professional Engineer License within Canada.
  • Experience as a System Architect on Military Command and Control Communication and Information systems or ISTAR systems.
  • Experience in preparing technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology/Information management or engineering.
  • Ability to communicate information technology frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff.
  • Ability to communicate system engineering direction for projects or systems.
  • Ability to provide advice, guidance, and recommendations on technical issues to support senior management decision-making.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems, frameworks, or strategies.
  • Ability to develop architecture in areas such as System-of-Systems level architecture for C4ISR systems, system requirements gathering for complex systems, and system level architecture for command and control communication and information systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in system integration, verification, and validation for hardware and software components in new or existing systems.
  • Experience in developing architecture for command and control communication and information systems, ISTAR systems, and system management solutions.
