Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammography Technologist to join our team at Hamilton Health Sciences. As a member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and assess mammographic images to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Participate in planning and organizing patient activities related to breast screening and diagnostic assessment.
- Provide optimum patient care and demonstrate a professional manner in the work setting.
- Assist in related activities as required.
- Current registration and good standing with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) required.
- Able to demonstrate successful completion of Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) Mammography I and II or process of acquiring successful completion.
- Successful completion of Certificate of Breast Imaging (CBI) required or in process of acquiring successful completion within a mutually agreed upon time frame.
- Minimum of 5 years recent experience as a practicing Mammographer, with advanced skill supporting radiologist in complex procedures including stereotactic biopsies, needle localization and radioactive seed placement and protocol exams for assessment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant professional associations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Association of Radiologists Mammography Accreditation Program (MAP).
- Demonstrated effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated good computer skills (Eg. Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Meditech, PACS).
- Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment and to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective manner.
- Ability to deal effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians and staff.
- Evidence of participation in on-going education and professional development.
- Certified with Ontario Breast Screening Program.
- Current membership in the CAMRT/OAMRS preferred.
- Commitment to meet goals and objectives of department.
