Bakery Operations Supervisor

The Bakery Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily activities of the bakery department within HWM Stores (2016) Ltd. This position requires a blend of culinary expertise and leadership skills to ensure the smooth operation of our baking processes.
Educational Requirements- Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is mandatory.
This role is set within a supermarket or dedicated bakery department, providing a dynamic and fast-paced atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare various doughs and batters for a range of baked goods, including pies, bread, rolls, and pastries, following established recipes or special customer requests.
- Craft custom pastries for significant events such as weddings and birthdays.
- Manage inventory by requisitioning or ordering necessary materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Oversee the baking of mixed doughs and batters to ensure quality and consistency.
- Train and mentor staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of baking personnel and kitchen staff.
- Decorate and frost cakes and other baked items to enhance presentation.
- Develop and implement production schedules to optimize workflow.
- Conduct quality inspections of kitchen and food service areas to maintain high standards.
- Operate baking machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Manage sales and merchandising strategies for baked goods.
- Prepare special dietary dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
- Recruit and train new staff members to ensure a skilled workforce.
- Ability to pay attention to detail in a busy environment.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime and meet tight deadlines.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality.
