Network Systems Engineer

At EllisDon, we're committed to delivering exceptional results and putting our values into practice. As a Network Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide advanced technical support for network hardware, software, and issues, documenting problems and solutions as required.
- Manage and maintain the operating viability of LAN and WAN networks, including wired and wireless infrastructure, and report any abnormalities.
- Design, plan, test, implement, and integrate various LAN/WAN systems, including data centers, core network firewalls and switches, wireless networks, MPLS traffic management, and internet routing services.
- Contribute to the design, configuration, and maintenance of VOIP networks, network security, and applications running on these platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the daily operations of infrastructure-wide, local, and wide-area networks, internet services, and other related systems.
- Coordinate resources and provide hands-on technical expertise as a point of escalation to other operations teams when needed.
- Report on operational audits and performance monitoring.
- Maintain updated records of network inventory, diagrams, specifications, and configuration item data in document repositories and the computer management database.
- Effectively use ITIL processes for all required changes and requisitions.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field.
- Current CCNP or CCIE certification.
- 5+ years' experience working with Cisco products in a large enterprise environment, leveraging equipment such as switches, routers, ASA firewalls, FirePower, CUCM (VOIP), wireless controllers, load balancers, etc.
- Expert knowledge in diagnosing complex network performance issues and working with network monitoring systems, Wireshark, Splunk, NETFLOW, etc.
- Expertise in documentation and network topology visualization at all OSI levels.
- Experience with Aruba Clearpass is an asset.
- Passion for network support and IT service delivery.
- Superior written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
- Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle.
