Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Advisor to join our Catastrophe Claims Services team. As a Claims Advisor, you will be responsible for providing quality service and managing expenses through the claims settlement process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Opening new claims and setting up appraisals
  • Assigning contractors and investigating claims
  • Negotiating and settling residential and auto claims
  • Generating financial transactions and finalizing settlements
  • Meeting or exceeding customer needs by adjusting claims in accordance with policy coverage
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure a legendary customer experience
  • Appropriately leveraging external vendors and sharing knowledge with colleagues
  • Ensuring customer problems are handled appropriately and escalating issues when necessary
  • Contribution to a positive working environment and flexibility to adapt to changing customer and business needs
Requirements
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
  • Proficiency in XACTANALYSIS is an asset
  • 2+ years of experience in a claims adjusting role (multiple lines would be considered an asset)
  • CIP designation is preferred
  • Effective communication, listening, empathy, and compassion
  • Negotiation skills
  • Superior client service orientation
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment
  • Ability to effectively deal with change and foster an environment open to change
  • Strong typing and computer skills
  • Maintaining a positive demeanor and fostering team spirit
  • Demonstrated good attendance and promptness
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice as required
