Job Summary:
The District School Board of Niagara is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our Facilities Maintenance team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing demand, predictive, and preventative maintenance on architectural systems, ensuring compliance with standard construction and maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on architectural systems, including millwork installations and finishing repairs.
- Take responsibility for all work performed, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Ensure administrative tasks, policies, and procedures are properly performed and followed.
- Abide by terms of Collective Agreement.
Qualifications:
- Valid 403A - General Carpenter Certificate of Qualification.
- Knowledge and experience in servicing and troubleshooting a wide variety of architectural finishes and systems.
- Demonstrable experience with customer service and personable communication.
- Attention to detail and the capacity to produce organized, clear paperwork.
Benefits:
- Salary Grid Level 1-S, $33.97 per hour.
- Permanent, 40-hour position in the CUPE Union Group.
- Group benefits, OMERS pension plan, and incrementally progressing paid vacation.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily work from the St. Catharines Service Centre.
- As required and assigned throughout the DSBN school system.
